Nothnagel's syndrome

Also known as outlined Ophthalmoplegia - ataxia syndrome. Cause pathogenesis more common in tumors, especially pineal tumors, and in the vascular disorders, damage to the four-stack, midbrain and water around the brain caused vermis. Clinical manifestations of unilateral eye disease, eye damage ipsilateral paralysis, often watching the limbs, especially the upward watch paralysis. Gait ataxia, incoordination arm, there should be contralateral cerebellar ataxia. Could be merged sleepiness. Differential diagnosis (1) pineal tumors (tumor dimeal body) nervous system symptoms for two deemed not, oculomotor nerve palsy eyeball movement disorders, ataxia, pupillary reflex changes include A-Romanian pupil, lethargy. Could be merged precociousness, only found in boys, growth retardation, stunted sexuality and diabetes insipidus. 80% of patients with symptoms of increased intracranial pressure. X-ray film pineal calcification. CT more useful for the diagnosis. (2), cerebral infarction (mesencephalon 362002) often in quiet break disease, the symptoms often hours or longer period of time gradually increased awareness often remain clear, and focal neurological deficits were more obvious, visible lateral oculomotor nerve palsy and contralateral hemiplegia. or lateral oculomotor nerve palsy, ataxia and unstable upper limb movements, changes in pupil reflex. CSF clear, the pressure is not high. Brain imaging examination and cerebral angiography in the diagnosis clear. (3) cerebral arteriovenous malformations (cerebrai arteriovemous malformat Ion) at the top of the third ventricle peripheral arterial malformation due to the "brain haemorrhage" bleeding or vascular malformation direct oppression and other reasons Nothnagel there's syndrome, but patients are more convulsion, headache, brain hemorrhage history. Cerebral angiography in the diagnosis most significance, CT, MRI also assist diagnosis and differential diagnosis. (4) Benedict's syndrome by the pons and the medulla oblongata caused extensive damage. Ipsilesional performance of cerebellar ataxia, nystagmus, Miosis, blepharoplasty, contralateral, paraparesis and lower extremity sensory disorders. (5) Babinski - nageotte's syndrome by the pons and the medulla oblongata caused extensive damage. Ipsilesional performance of cerebellar ataxia, nystagmus, Miosis, blepharoplasty, contralateral, paraparesis and lower extremity sensory dysfunction.
